A campsite near the châteaux of the Loire

Recharge your tribe’s batteries by the Loire river, either camping or staying in one of our holiday rentals able to accommodate 4 people, and make the most of the mild climate of the Anjou region at the Slow Village Loire Vallée campsite. Perfectly located at the gateway to Angers and its impressive Château d’Angers fortress, belonging to King René (Duke of Anjou) in the 15th century, you will be able to go off and explore the Loire Valley, its exceptional vineyards and its magnificent châteaux. In addition, make the most of the Anjou region’s mild climate to go to Terra Botanica, the botanical and theme park, the Parc Oriental de Maulévrier (Japanese gardens) or the Abbaye de Fontevraud – a former abbey now home to cultural events!

TAKE IT ALL IN!

After exploring Angers – the best city in which to live in France, and having gone all over the exceptional Loire à Vélo bicycle trail, visit the Abbaye de Fontevraud, the châteaux of Saumur, Brissac, Brézé, Le Plessis Macé and Le Plessis Bourré. In addition, visit the medieval town of Montreuil Bellay, the so-called troglodyte villages (containing cave dwellers’ sites from past centuries) and the vineyards of Anjou. A little further on are the following evocative names which have endowed upon the Loire Valley its UNESCO World Heritage Site status: Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise, Azay le Rideau, Blois and others of significance…
